One disaster is over and the next one rears its ugly head. This time it was Japan.

Twitter, CNN, BBC, Al Jazeera, Reuters, NHK and Kyodo News are currently keeping me updated. It's horrible and sad and, quite honestly, fucking terrifying. The images make me cry, but they also give me goosebumps. The fact that this earthquake led to tsunamis, and that even the US is affected by this (and who knows where else it will go) shows how huge this is. I don't pray because I don't believe in God, but I've started to think prayer is not solely Christian anyway. I believe in something, that should be good enough. And I'm definitely keeping Japan and any other country or area that is affected by this in my mind and in my heart.

I hope everyone I know and love is safe, and that everyone you know and care for is too. The same goes for everyone I don't know. Anyone out there who is not safe, who is scared or hurt, or who lost someone: I know you'll never read this, but you're not alone, and you're strong enough to get through this. The worst is hopefully over now - fingers crossed - but I'm going to continue following the news to see what will happen.

Scarily enough, last time I made a similar post (about Australia) I mentioned Belinda (bubbalooee9), who lives in Australia. She's going to Japan in less than two weeks, so I'm incredibly thankful she's not there yet, but stop scaring me, woman! ♥ When you're over there, you better send me a message or text or whatever every day, several times a day, because I'm worried enough as it is.

Japan, Hawaii, the US West Coast, any other place that is currently in danger: we love you, and please stay safe. ♥

I woke up to the news of the earthquake, and was shocked to hear that tsunamis were reaching the west coast. It felt like a blow to the chest in a way.

Was mother nature always this vindictive?

I think that was when it really hit me. Of course I knew the earthquake and tsunami in Japan were horrible, but when you hear that this tsunami is travelling halfway across the world it makes you realise just how bad it is.

It does seem to only be getting worse everywhere.

Well, whenever you go: keep in touch. ♥
Mine too... I feel so sad whenever I see or read something new, but at the same time I can't stop reading it.
